Duties & Responsibilities

Your Day!!!

As the Welder with our crew, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of different vessels, different projects of varying degrees of complexity. You must be keen to apply your trade to meet a high standard of quality with each job you undertake. Typical work conducted for our clients include, but is not limited to:

· Complete field service on fishing vessels and/or other equipment

· Problem-solving with creative thinking

· Operate flame-cutting equipment: oxygen and acetylene

· Perform weld maintenance and repairs to a wide variety of equipment

· Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as:

Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
Plasma cutting o Shielded Metal arc Welding (SMAW)
Oxy-Acetylene Welding (OAW)

Skills & Qualifications


· Journeyman certificate with 5 years experience preferred

· Proficient in MIG (Push-Pull) welding Experience in TIG and stick welding is an asset

· Previous experience in fabricating, boating industry; aluminum and stainless-steel fabrication is an asset

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs


· Mechanical knowledge and ability to make good judgments

· Safety conscious and a keen eye for detail

· Problem-solving and communication skills (written, verbal on the phone and in-person)

· Strong and positive contributor to a team

· Thrives in a fast-paced, team-based work environment

· Ability to work independently demonstrating strong initiative
