A division of Toromont Industries. The Power Systems division is dedicated to supporting our customers when it comes to power generation, power quality, marine engines, industrial engines, rental power, pumps, and temperature control.

Toromont Power Systems is looking for a Product Support Account Manager (PSAM) to join our team! The primary focus of the Product Support Account Manager (PSAM) is to support Customers throughout the life cycle of the products purchased ensuring deliverables are aligned with business objectives. The PSAM will drive product support sales of parts and services for the Energy Division including Electric Power, Industrial, Marine, and Rental equipment, and manage the customer relationships as a technical resource to support the operation and maintenance of products

Duties & Responsibilities

- Promote Toromont and Caterpillar in a professional manner and develop a territory plan and business development for customers’ product support opportunities within assigned regions
- Review detailed specifications and tenders to determine the right product support strategy/offerings and submit bids accordingly to ensure all Toromont Financials and risk management objectives are met for all quotes
- Respond to customer product support sales inquiries in a timely manner to determine the appropriate actions
- Identify and proactively engage in product support sales calls with prospective customers and distribute other leads to the appropriate market segment Account Manager (EPG, Industrial, Marine, and Rental)
- Remain current on market conditions, competitive intelligence, and pricing to provide feedback to management, inside sales, and Caterpillar
- Market and execute the full range of Toromont's product and service offerings including Customer Support Agreements, Preventative Maintenance Agreements, Reman Products, Extended Service Coverage, Oil Sampling, Overhaul Protection, Connectivity, etc.
- Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams, branch product support staff and engage them in activities to ensure proper alignment of goals
- Complete call reports following each customer meeting and maintain the Sales Link database to ensure customer information and sales activities are up to date
- Maintain the projects quote log system to ensure complete and accurate marketing information
- Provide second-line technical support for customers by working closely with Project Managers and Engineers
- Prepare and present information/update sessions for internal branch staff and customers including lunch and learn sessions and CAT care seminars, etc.
- Participate in appropriate industry associations, training sessions, customer events, etc.
- Assist with the collection of outstanding customer payments and distribute settlements related to parts and service work performed
- Participate in workplace safety, environmentally sound, healthy behaviours, and objectives at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/Programs and best practices

Skills & Qualifications

- Post-Secondary Education with 5+ years’ experience in the industry with an understanding of the Power Systems marketplace and its fundamentals (EPG, Industrial, Marine)
- Technical aptitude and knowledge of diesel/gas engines, generators, switchgear, transfer switches, etc.
- Proven sales capacity with experience engaging new customers and business opportunities
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact across all levels of the organization and with our customers
- High aptitude for negotiating, developing business plans/strategies, budgets, and implementing service-related programs
- Solution focused and customer-centric with effective interpersonal and team-building skills
- Solid business and financial acumen with an advanced understanding of business principles, company policies, and objectives
- Well-developed analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with a high sense of urgency
- Self-motivated and adaptable to changing and multiple priorities to meet aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Applications, DBS, SIS
- Willing and able to travel and work flexible hours in support of the business needs
- Valid Passport and valid Driver’s Licence with a clean Driver’s Abstract
