IMO Tier III info sessions, Yarmouth – all welcome

This is a Notice of an information / update session from NSBA on TC’s IMO Tier III engine emissions requirement on 8th December in Yarmouth. We have invited the local TC office to attend.

IMO Tier III info sessions, Yarmouth – all welcome
As of 01 Jan 2016, Transport Canada requires all marine diesel engines installed in new commercial vessels to be IMO Tier III compliant. This requirement is very challenging and threatens to impact new construction and re-powering of existing vessels. There is still confusion within the industry as to what TC’s requirements are – and what options are available to meet them.

WE RECENTLY LEARNED IT’S LIKELY TRANSPORT CANADA WILL BE SOON ANNOUNCING A CHANGE TO THIS REQUIREMENT. WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO TELL YOU WHAT THIS CHANGE IS AT THIS SESSION.

So, the NSBA will be holding two, one-hour information sessions in Yarmouth for boatbuilders, marine engine suppliers, designers and other stakeholders as follows:

Tuesday 8th Dec, Atlantic Cat, 15 Jody Shelley Drive (near the Mariner’s Centre)
Session 1 – 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
Session 2 – 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

If you haven’t done so already, please let the NSBA know if you plan to attend – everyone is welcome.

Thanks to Atlantic Car for use of their facilities.

For those of you in the northern part of the Province, we are holding a similar session in Port Hawkesbury on 15th Dec. See the event calendar for details.
