Andrew W. Dunn, MAcc, FCA Managing Partner, Tax Deloitte & Touche LLP Named one of Canada’s leading tax advisors by the International Tax Review, Andrew is the Managing Partner for Tax and a member of Deloitte’s Global Tax Executive. He is the incoming Chair of the firm’s Client Cabinet, driving Deloitte’s Future of Canada vision, including the Future of Productivity and Future of Tax initiatives.
A regular speaker and author on tax policy, Andrew recently appeared as an expert witness before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance to discuss Deloitte’s recommendations for Canada’s 2012 budget; he has also appeared before the Senate Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce to discuss financing growth capital for small-medium enterprises. Andrew is the architect of the Future of Tax initiative, which expresses a tax policy vision for Canada focused on measures that enhance national competitiveness and prosperity.
With more than 25 years of transaction experience, Andrew serves primarily Canadian-based private equity funds, where he plays a key role in helping these groups structure how they raise capital (recognizing the diverse characteristics of their investors), buy and sell their investments, and allocate the return to the principals and their investors.
Andrew co-chairs, with Dr. Stan Laiken, the Deloitte Centre for Tax Education and Research at the University of Waterloo. He is a member of the Tax Committee of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, and a member of the Board of the Children’s Aid Foundation.
